About the Role
Join the R&D team as a Senior Fullstack Engineer, building and testing features across the frontend, backend, and AI. You’ll use AI coding tools to move ideas into working prototypes in days rather than weeks, then work with the core engineering team to bring successful prototypes into the main platform. This is a fully remote role open to anyone based in the UK.
Job Summary
Working in our R&D team, you will quickly build and test new features across the frontend, backend, and AI. By using AI coding tools, you’ll turn ideas into working products in days rather than weeks.
Successful prototypes will be integrated into our main platform, meaning you’ll also write production-ready code and work closely with the core engineering team. This is a fully remote role open to anyone based in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Build new product features from start to finish—covering user interfaces, APIs, databases, and AI integration.
- Use AI development tools (like Claude Code or Cursor) to build, test, and iterate rapidly.
- Test new AI capabilities (such as new models, agent frameworks, and voice tools) and turn promising ones into working demos.
- Collaborate with the CTO, product, and commercial teams to test ideas with real users and decide what to build next, improve, or drop.
- Clean up successful prototypes into secure, well-tested code that matches our core architecture and API standards.
- Hand over validated features to the main engineering team with clear documentation.
- Take responsibility for checking and securing any AI-generated code before it reaches production.
- Share your findings and recommendations with the rest of the business.
Requirements
- From 4 years of professional software engineering experience shipping fullstack products.
- Strong TypeScript skills, including experience with a modern frontend framework (like React or Next.js) and Node.js backends.
- Proven experience using AI coding tools and agentic workflows to build things quickly.
- Hands-on experience working with LLM APIs (prompt design, function calling, retrieval, and evaluating outputs).
- Strong engineering judgment: knowing when to hack together a quick prototype versus when to build production-grade code, and knowing how to fix AI-generated code.
- Working knowledge of AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB/RDS, S3).
- Experience working with APIs, REST, and webhooks.
- A product mindset and comfort with ambiguity.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with voice AI, telephony, or messaging platforms (Twilio, WhatsApp API, speech-to-text, text-to-speech).
- Experience with agent frameworks or the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
- Background in an early-stage startup, R&D, or innovation team.
- Experience with real-time interfaces (WebSockets, SSE, streaming responses).
- A portfolio of side projects, open-source contributions, or public demos.
