About Our Client

Our client, a highly successful e-commerce company with a substantial subscriber base, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their dynamic Data Team. If you are passionate about data and innovation, this opportunity is perfect for you.

What You’ll Do

• Global Collaboration: Work with engineering teams across Los Angeles, Argentina, Dublin, and Vietnam to plan, deploy, and maintain critical business applications.
• Technical Leadership: Manage AWS environments, Kubernetes clusters, and DevOps toolchains with best practices for monitoring, maintenance, and administration.
• Automation: Automate the deployment of container applications/services in Kubernetes, along with system configurations and security settings.
• Support: Provide guidance and support during deployments and production outages.
• CI/CD Pipelines: Create and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Infrastructure as Code: Write and maintain Terraform scripts for infrastructure as code (IaC).
• Resource Management: Setup, maintain, and tag AWS resources such as RDS, Elasticache, EC2, and IAM.
• Monitoring: Setup server monitoring and application performance monitoring (APM) with Cloudwatch and Datadog.
• Documentation: Improve documentation for knowledge management.
• Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, architects, and engineers to implement best deployment practices.
• Mentorship: Mentor other DevOps engineers and help define development standards, procedures, and guidelines.
• On-Call: Be available on call via PagerDuty.

Your Background and Skills

• Experience: 7+ years in DevOps, with extensive experience in AWS.
• CI/CD: Expertise in GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
• Kubernetes: Experience with Kubernetes, preferably EKS.
• AWS Services: Strong experience with AWS services and management, including EKS, MSK, SQS, EC2, IAM, S3, Security Group, VPC, etc.
• IaC Tools: Experience with IaC tools like Ansible and Terraform.
• Programming: Proficiency in Python and familiar with Docker environments.
• Education: BS or higher in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• Global Teams: Experience working with global teams.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of software architecture, Linux systems, and relational databases. Strong shell scripting knowledge.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.

• Additional Skills: SQL, Kafka experience, OO programming languages such as Java and Python.
• Data Warehousing: Experience setting up and maintaining DW instances like Snowflake.
• Monitoring Tools: Solid understanding of monitoring and alerting tools/services like Datadog.
• Atlassian Ecosystem: Experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Advanced IaC: Knowledge of Pulumi and Terragrunt.
• MLOps: Experience with MLOps.
