About This Role

As the Analytics Engineer, you’ll own the entire data stack—building reliable pipelines, enabling cross-team access, and laying the groundwork for a centralized data function.

Job Description

Starting within the engineering team, you’ll rebuild ETL jobs, optimize systems, and implement dbt transformations to ensure smooth, dependable data flow. You’ll make key decisions on tooling, sync frequency, and error handling.

You’ll also define core business metrics across the customer journey—from acquisition (CAC, CPL) to operations (time to medication).

  • Engineering Focus: Architect the warehouse, build dbt transformations, and maintain pipeline tooling.

  • Analytics Support: Deliver clean, trusted metrics for Growth (CAC, CPL, funnels) and Ops (delivery times, time to medication).

  • Independent Execution: Define what matters, build backend logic, and operate autonomously in a senior capacity.

  • Strategic Impact: Shape data strategy org-wide—balancing speed, clarity, and reliability.

Must-Have Skills

  • Experience: 5+ years in data, 3+ in engineering. Proven ownership of pipelines, warehouses, and reporting.

  • Data Engineering: Built robust syncs into Redshift or similar. Skilled in error handling and troubleshooting.

  • SQL & Modeling: Write and optimize complex queries. Build scalable, reusable models for large datasets.

  • Business Metrics: Translate KPIs like CAC or time to medication into actionable data logic.

  • Ownership & Autonomy: Self-directed, proactive, and fast-moving.

  • Team Leadership: Experience managing and scaling data teams.

Bonus Skills

  • Growth & Clinical Metrics: Familiar with acquisition and operational KPIs in healthcare or similar fields.

  • Analytics Tools: Proficient in Metabase or similar platforms.

  • Rudderstack: Experience with customer data platforms and event tracking.

  • Problem Solver: Relentless in debugging, validating, and reverse engineering broken data flows

Compensation & Benefits

  • Healthcare: comprehensive medical insurance (if appropriate).

  • Remote: our team is fully distributed across the world and functions fully remotely.

  • Personal development: budget for books, courses, coaching ($1000/yr).

  • Personal wellness: budget for gym, health apps ($1000/yr).

  • GLP-1s: free membership with a clinic offering GLP-1s.

  • Health coaching: free biweekly health coaching so you stay healthy.

  • Work coaching: free biweekly work coaching so you stay sharp + calm.

  • Equipment: Macbook & work-from-home equipment provided as needed.

This is a full-time, fully remote role. You’ll work async in the timezone of your choice as long as you’re around until midday Pacific Time for calls as needed.
